Sarah
E. Barlow, MD, MPH, is an assistant professor of pediatrics at
Saint Louis University School of Medicine with a joint appointment
at the School of Public Health. She received her MD from University
of Texas Southwestern Medical School and her masters in public
health from Harvard School of Public Health. She is the director
of the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital Weight Management
Program. She has written and spoken to healthcare providers on
recommendations for evaluation and treatment of childhood obesity,
and she has studied attitudes and practices of pediatric healthcare
providers regarding childhood obesity. Currently, Dr. Barlow has
a K08 award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
to improve childhood obesity treatment in the pediatrician’s
office.
